Twitch, the Amazon-owned live streaming platform, has been hacked, as reported this Wednesday by the company, owned by Amazon. “We can confirm that a violation has occurred. Our teams are working urgently to understand the extent of the issue. We will update the community as soon as additional information is available,” the company said via Twitter.
The hacker would have leaked 125GB of company data in an Internet forum, including the source code of the service, the properties they own, an apparent Steam competitor created by Amazon Game Studios called Vapor and other internal information.
An anonymous user of the 4chan forum has published a set of data that he has claimed belongs to Twitch, including confidential data of the company. “The Twitch leak is real, and includes a significant amount of personal data,” cybersecurity expert Kevin Beaumont also assured via Twitter.
